The foreign national must present a certificate of no impediment, issued by a relevant authority or embassy in their home country. This certificate confirms there are no legal obstacles to their marriage and should be translated into English and notarized if it is not already in English. The foreign national must also present a copy of the passport bio data page, copy of proof of lawful stay/entry in Zimbabwe, Police Clearance from prospective alien spouses’ country of origin.
- Impact on Immigration Status and Citizenship
Marrying a Zimbabwean does not automatically grant citizenship or residency rights to a foreign national. If the foreign national seeks to become a Zimbabwean citizen, they will need to undergo a separate naturalization process. This process generally involves:
